Demo week & Factory visit

Since last September, Smart Equipment has added a complementary range of shredders with Hammel. Those who wanted to become extensively acquainted with the machines of this German manufacturer had ample opportunity to do so in March. During the demo days, Smart Equipment took interested parties to Bad Salzungen. There they could discover the Hammel shredders inside and out.

With Hammel Demo Week from March 12 to 16, visitors were presented with a dual program. “The factory visits showed exactly how the machines are produced. Robustness is the key word and this was clearly evident in every step of the production process. After all, in recycling, shredders cannot be made of small stuff,” explained Andreas De Coninck, marketing and internal sales at Smart Equipment. Outside, there were then three demo rigs that showed exactly what these shredders are capable of. “A first setup showed the VB 650 DK in action, complemented by the MSS 1400 E sorting unit, specifically for processing metal. In setup two, the VB 950 DK had cable drums and waste wood to deal with. These materials have a reputation for being difficult to process, but this ‘red giant’ handled them without any problems. A third setup presented a mobile metal plant with a combination of the VB 850 DK, SMA E, return conveyor, eddy current sorting and picking stations.”
